Early Life and Education

Born on May 13, 1985, as the seventh of twelve children, Pastor Jonathan Everett’s family has always been the cornerstone of his life, shaping his faith and dedication to service. A graduate of John Ehret High School in New Orleans, LA, Pastor Everett firmly established roots in his community, where he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age. His spiritual journey quickly led him to become one of the youngest youth leaders appointed by the Southern Baptist Convention, where he successfully planned and led seminars, workshops, and preaching engagements.

Ministry and Evangelism

Pastor Everett’s gifts for ministry led to invitations to preach across the United States, as well as in the Bahamas, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Africa. His evangelistic travels broadened his ministry, culminating in his appointment as pastor of the Rock of Ages Baptist Church in New Orleans, LA. Under his leadership, the church experienced unprecedented growth, with over one hundred souls saved and joining the ministry. The congregation expanded from three members to more than 1,000 faithful servants, making it the fastest-growing church in the city.

Pastor Everett’s leadership also extended the church’s outreach efforts, including food drives, jail and prison ministry, and scholarship programs that have assisted parents in returning to school, helped students transition to local colleges and universities, and supported members in restoring their credit and becoming first-time homeowners. Additionally, he served as the Youth Director aboard the One Love Gospel Cruise for two consecutive years and oversees 625 Senior Pastors in Kampala, Uganda. Pastor Everett was awarded the 2024 NOBLE Civil Rights Community Service Justice by Action Award; he also traveled to Cuba, Africa, and Columbia to do Mission work. His daily prayer call, which attracts over 5,000 participants from around the world, and his weekly ministry, which reaches over 60,000 listeners across radio and social media platforms, continue to inspire and uplift many.

Public Influence and Mentorship

Pastor Everett is widely recognized for his skillful, soulful, and practical approach to teaching, making his ministry a guiding light for many. Recently, he led a Resurrection Worship service at Tad Gormley Stadium, which drew an audience of over 9,000. His spirited teaching has captured the attention of local political figures, professional athletes, and individuals in the arts and entertainment industries, establishing him as a sought-after voice in these fields.

His ministry and mentorship extend to the halls of city government, where he works closely with several high-profile political figures and provides counsel to top-ranked public officials. He is also the first appointed African American male mentor for the University of New Orleans. In addition, Pastor Everett directs the missionary work of the Merge Community Development Corporation, serves as the CEO and President of Prestige Environment Management Services, and is the founder of the iMatter Leadership Institute. In recognition of his significant contributions to the community and beyond, Pastor Everett was recently honored with a Proclamation from the New Orleans City Council.
